I'm mixing two things here since I'm not feeling like writing separate posts to cover both. Before the Eclipse accepts him into the realm of God Hand, the man who was once called Griffith endures an entire year of
Elden Ring Runes endless torture for being a lover to the princess of an important kingdom. The tongue of Griffith is slit and his skin is swollen, and all the while the man is required to wear a mask made of iron. After being saved by Guts and the others of the Band of the Hawk, Griffith gradually recovers, but the mask is left to hide the scars from his horrific incident.
Elden Ring players have drawn parallels between Griffith's iron mask and the one of Prisoner class players who can select at the start in the course. This isn't a 1:1 comparison however, the smocked eye on the prisoner's headwear is in line with the fact that Berserk seldom shows a face-to-face Griffith wearing his mask, preferring to portray the mercenary in a state of torture with only one eye hidden with the shadow of his mask.
Furthermore, the Winged Helm worn by Elden Ring boss Malenia and eventually obtainable by players can easily be seen as an homage to a similar piece of armor Berserk antagonist-turned-ally Farnese wears during her time commanding the Holy Iron Chain Knights. It's possible to be dismissed because both are influenced by the medieval portrayals of Valkyries however I prefer to think of them as being directly linked because it's more enjoyable.
Elden Ring's Greatsword vs. Berserk's Dragon Slayer
Then, my personal favorite Berserk reference is in Elden Ring apart from the sword fields. Elden Ring, like previous Souls games, conceals the world's building in the descriptions of items. It's usually the best way to understand why someone was involved in something or to find out who's related to whom and, therefore, it's a good that homages to Berserk could be hidden in the flavor descriptions too.
It's a lot like the comments made about Guts' Dragon Slayer in Berserk that in the first section of the comic is described as an "raw pile of iron" that is "much too large to be referred to as an actual sword." The characters are frequently amazed by the fact that Guts is able to wield this weapon due to its size. However, because of his incredible power, he can make use of it to cut through anything that gets in his way. Both weapons look like each other, but that may be due to
Elden Ring Runes for sale the fact that they're both massive swords.
