Could AI Image Generators Become Dangerous for Artists?

There is a lot of talk these days about how AI Image Generators can become competitors to artists, especially in commercial art. Is there a danger that artists will be left without work, and how realistic is this? I would like to hear the opinions of people who have encountered this technology.

I am an artist myself and recently decided to explore the possibilities of GPT Image. I admit, I was skeptical at first, but one day I needed to create a quick sketch for a client and decided to give AI a try. The result was surprisingly high-quality and helped save time. However, this does not mean that artists can be replaced. AI is a tool that can help with routine and speed up the process of creating works, but it cannot replace the individuality and creativity inherent in a living artist.
